This was in regard to the placing of new poles-an extension-of the present system of the Seward Light and Power.
The council passed a resolution against any enlargement or increase of the electric system beyond the present capacity of the Seward Light and Power.
The Seward Light and Power at present have no franchise according to the City Clerk; one franchise having expired in 1940 and the last in 1944.
A number of years ago the people of Seward voted against authorizing any new franchise to the company.
In a letter addressed to the City Clerk, Attorney General Rivers stated that no company could operate without a franchise in an incorporated area.
When contacted at their office the Superintendent had no statement to make regarding the stoppage of his extention.
Chief of Police Lee served the notice Tuesday morning.
