Full Text

April 4. Several circumstances, not known before, are said to be received by the last Mails from America, which set the conduct of the commander in chief there, lately superseded, in a very favourable light. It is even said, that an express has been sent with orders for him to continue in command. His lordship had settled the plan of operations with the several provinces, in order to make a bold push early, before the French could receive any great reinforcements; which, by the suspension of so considerable a person just at the time of its being to put in execution, may be defeated.
