Mr. Percy Klee, architect and contractor, of Philadelphia, Pa., has received the contract for the erection of the abattoir for Mr. Harry D. Baumgardner.
The plans for the building have been changed and it will be much larger than was first intended. It will be a three-story brick and iron structure, and will be angle shaped, 100 feet long, 45 feet wide at one end and 57 feet at the other. It will be sanitary throughout.
The third floor will be used for slaughtering purposes, the second for the cutting and the preparing of the meat, and the first floor for grinding and storage purposes.
A dynamo will be installed for the furnishing of electric lights for the plant.
The work of construction is in progress and with favorable weather conditions the building will be completed in about sixty days.
The plant will be situated along the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, near the M. J. Grove lime kilns, southeast of the city.
