Bank of North-Carolina.—At the annual meeting of
the stockholders of this Bank, held in this City on Thursday last, the following gentlemen were elected Directors:
B. F. Moore, J. W. B. Watson, G. W. Mordecai, Chas.
Manly, Kemp Battle, Alfred
Jones and William Peace. William R. Poole was re-appointed
Director for the State. Jonathan Worth is also a Director for the State, by virtue of his office as Treasurer.
The Council of State, at its recent session, appointed
the Hon. Edwin G. Reade, of Person, a member of the
Board of Internal Improvement, in place of William Eaton,
Jr., Esq, resigned.
We learn that the Rev. Mr. Graves, of this State, is in
Richmond awaiting his trial, which was set for the 10th
instant. Mr. G. is entitled to a prompt and full hearing
of his case. This is all he asks.
The communications in the Standard to-day—one over
the signature of "Gamma," dated Culpepper Courthouse,
Va., one over the signature of "E. G.," and the other over
the signature of "The Soldier's Friend" will make the
blood of every true North-Carolinian burn with indignation.
