Miss Mary Ascencio, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Jerome Ascencio of Little Tucson, will leave soon for Baylor University at Dallas, to start a six-month, post-graduate course in operating room techniques.
A graduate of the Phoenix Indian school, she was a nurse's aide at Pima County hospital before entering the S.H. Kress School of Practical Nursing. Miss Ascencio is the first Kress graduate to take post-graduate study.
She nursed at the Pima County hospital for a while after her graduation in 1958 before entering the Public Health service. She has been at San Xavier since last year.
