Olio,—The Legislature of Ohio met at Columbus on the 5th inst. In the Senate Col. William Doherty was elected Speaker on the seventh ballot by two majority, and William B. Hubbard, Esq. Speaker of the House, on the second ballot by a majority of six votes; Gov. McArthur's Message, is plain and to the point.

The whole Canal debt of Ohio, is $4,657,128: the interest payable thereon $275,427. The amount of tolls received this year upon the Miami, and the Ohio Canals, as far as finished was $100,119. The extent of canal now finished is 334 miles. By 1st July next, 400 miles will, it is computed, be navigable.
