Eight Sidney high school students went to Williston January 11, where they wrote on scholarship tests in a National Merit Testing program which is given to students who make application by a designated deadline.
Students from all parts of the United States write these tests at regional places which are designated to give these tests on a specific date. The papers are sent to Princeton University which is the headquarters of this project. Here the students are rated and scholarship honors are determined.
Twelve students wrote on these tests at Williston. Those from Sidney were Bonnie Atchison, Lorna Mikelson, Joyce Swenson, Sharon Anderson, Berna Kamber, Richard Pribnow, Kendall Habedank, James Atchison. In addition to these there were two from Williston, one from Fairview and one from Tioga.
