This company was detained longer in service than any other company of the regiment. It was removed to Smyrna, after the rest of the regiment had been mustered out, and remained there two weeks guarding the "conscripts" who had passed the examination of the "draft" officers.
Each member of this company, on being mustered out, was furnished a discharge paper, giving name, rank, description, and date of muster-in and of muster-out, which was signed by Captain Chas. Heydrick, and by the mustering officer, Henry B. Judd, Major U. S. Army.
Has any other company of the "6th" received its discharge papers?
