Harris Nicholson who last week graduated from the Cooper Union art school, New York, received the gold medal of that institution in recognition of his unusual talents and ability. He came to America from Sundsvall, Sweden, two years ago, and while working in a match factory during the daytime, he attended the Cooper Union school in the evenings. Mr. Nicholson became favorably known through an exhibit of his paintings arranged in Sundsvall shortly before he left for the United States.
