Quavering words and tearful eyes marked the story told in the police court yesterday by James Sheehan, 74 years old, who told the court he buried a son in Elko and came here to another son only to find that his boy had left. Stranded here he sought light employment. Someone on Lake street questioned him and touched by his story gave him 50 cents although no alms were solicited. An officer saw the money pass. Sheehan was arrested for begging. In court, thinking of the boy he had buried he had a hard time to keep the tears back. He had lived here seven or eight years, 16 years ago, lived several years at Virginia City and has a daughter at Boca to whom he is now going. He appeared mightily relieved not to be forced to return to jail. -Reno Gazette.
