"DIFFERENCE TWIXT TWEEDLE DUM AND TWEEDLE DEE."
It will be recollected that at the last whig meeting in Town the whigs occupied the Presbyterian Church in the evening! Assent having been obtained of one of the Trustees belonging to the Democratic party. This week the Democrats had concluded that they would have a meeting at the same place as gentlemen were here from abroad but behold, a pious horror had come over the tho dreams of the Ex-whig blow gun, seconded by all the whiffits of the same stamp; and aided by the whig blow gun official, efficient measures were taken to defeat the intentions of the Democrats. At sunset they found to their surprise the door closed against them & the key not to be obtained. A Petticoat (the badge of distinction of their Hero) served as a beacon for the occasion. What next from the Reformers? "Put the screws to them." The people must be made to feel before they will be convinced.
