A gentleman in the country in a letter to his friend in this town, makes the following observation: "The late appointment of Judges in the Superior Court of Judicature, has had a greater tendency to quiet the disturbances that have for some years prevailed in the counties of Cheshire and Grafton, than any measure that has yet been adopted; and 'tis hoped Government will make such provision in future, as to enable the Judges to continue that resolution, independence, and firmness which they have so happily exerted, to their own honor, and the universal satisfaction of the people."
