Charge Ex-Madison Officer
With First Degree Murder

MADISON—First degree murder is
the charge on which the state will
base its case, John S. Baker, assistant
attorney general, has announced
in connection with the trial of Martin
Lynaugh, former Madison policeman,
charged with killing Carl Jandorf, a
University of Wisconsin sophomore
from Grand Rapids, Mich., just previous to "Cap Night" last May 28.
The trial has been set for Jan. 3 at
Jefferson. Change of the place of
trial from Madison was made on motion of the defense because of alleged prejudice of students and citizens. The original time of trial was
to have been Nov. 6. The case will
be heard by Judge Grimm of the Jefferson county circuit court.
