Col. Warner's Epitaph.

The following quaint epitaph is copied from the tomb-stone of the gallant Hero of Crown Point, in the graveyard in Roxbury this county-

IN MEMORY OF
COL. SETH WARNER, Esq.
Who Departed this Life December the 26,
A. D., 1784,
in the 42d year of his age.

Triumphant Leader of an army's head.
Whose martial glory struck a panic dread!
Thy warlike deeds, engraved on this stone,
Tell future ages what a Hero has done.
Full sixteen Battles he did fight.
For to procure his Country's right.
This brave Hero, he did fall
By Death, that ever conquers all.
When this you see remember me.
