SHELBURNE, March 1.

WE are informed from Yarmouth, that they have caught salmon there during this whole winter, in great plenty. The mode they pursue is to lay the net in deep water, just below a rapid, where it does not freeze. One person at the Tusket-river, has put up several barrels caught in this manner, most of them weighing from eighteen to twenty-five pounds. And at Argyle they have had lobsters the whole winter long in great plenty. Why shall not the rivers Roseway and Jordan, abounding in these fish, and convenient places for the catching of them, afford them at this season?

Since our last sailed for Halifax, the schooner Success, Capt. Wardrell.

March 8. On Thursday last put into Green-Harbour, at the entrance of our river, the brig Mary, Capt. Ferguson, owned by Mr. H. Austen of Jamaica, and bound from thence to Halifax; she had been forty-nine days out, five of them entangled in the ice off Halifax harbour, and not being able to get in there, and being in immediate want of water, the rats having occasioned the loss of a pump cask, was obliged to make for this port.

She sailed again on Friday afternoon for Halifax.
