Full Text

New Primary Election Bill.

Senator Albert Charlton, one of the holdover State Senators, will introduce a bill in the Legislature providing for primary elections being held at the expense of the State. The way the primary funds are now raised it keeps a number of aspiring candidates from entering the field because they have not the money to pay the entrance fee and are therefore frequently barred from office.

Under the proposed new primary law, the selection of officers of the election will be the same way as the selection of officers for the general election and the same law will apply to both elections.
