Full Text

Oregon Salt. We have on our table a specimen of Oregon Salt, which is of as good quality as any made in the Eastern States. This salt was made in Polk county eleven or twelve miles from this place, by Mr. Whittaker. He had to bore about eighty feet, before he reached the salt water. It yields over a pound of pure salt to two gallons of water. If this proves as extensive as appearances indicate, Oregon will soon supply itself. We hope the experiment will yield its owner a large pecuniary benefit.—Pacific Christian Advocate
