FROM LISBON,
Capt. Rich, from Lisbon, mentions, that reports were current there that Moorish cruisers are at sea. But as there are persons at Lisbon interested in deterring the American vessels from proceeding to Cadiz, these reports are not relied on. The ship Roe from Philadelphia, which had arrived off the Western Islands, fell in with two armed schooners of suspicious appearance and conduct, which were supposed to be Algerine cruisers. A Swedish vessel had been chased on shore. It was rumoured that a Swedish frigate had beaten four Tripoline privateers in the Mediterranean; and this affair Capt. R. supposes gave rise to the report, that frigate Boston had been engaged.
