Full Text

Lord Grantham, our Ambassador at the Court of Madrid, has, we hear, lately sent home an Account, that on some late Eclaircissements he had with the Spanish Ministry, relative to the great naval Preparations going on in their different Ports, he was assured that they were only intended to chastise the Barbarians. A very satisfactory Answer, says our Correspondent, when it is well known that a Dozen Frigates from thirty two to sixteen Guns would answer that pretended Purpose much better, and at infinitely less Expense, than above forty Men of War of the Line, composed of second and third Rate Ships, doubly manned and officered.
