Tickets are now on sale, in town and the base, for a grand prize to be awarded in connection with the annual base community chest carnival. The event will be held Friday and Saturday evenings, Nov. 4 and 5.
The grand prize will be two tickets to the Rose Bowl game, with round trip transportation and four days at the Hotel Washington in Seattle furnished.
The carnival, under the direction of Welfare Officer Lt (jg) J M. Taulbee, will benefit various base and town charities.
A large variety of booths and games of skill are planned for the carnival, and two town organizations, the BPW and the American Legion and Auxiliary, will also manage booths.
The following base organizations will have booths at the carnival: VP 27, aerial bombing range; weather central cigar and cigarette wheel; PO club, blanket wheel; Ship's Store coin pitch; Coast Guard airforce, dart game; Fasron 114, milk bottles; Ft. Greely, ham and bacon wheel; Marine Club, swinging ball; supply department, merchandise; photo lab, funny photos.
Also GCA, test strength; base PTA, cake sale; high school, children's booth; flag division, fish pond; commissary department, hot dog stand; Officers Club beer stand; NAS, ring toss; BOQ, games; ordnance department, slot machines; dispensary, kiddy lane; communication candy and soft drinks; Fasron 114, basketball pitch; Civilian Club, bingo.
