Williamsburg, April 11. Capt. Hamlin, Master of the Sloop Betty, (belonging to Col. Benjamin Harrison) lately arriv'd here from Jamaica informs us, That as he was on his Passage, Two of the Men, knowing he had a considerable Sum of Money aboard, conspir'd to kill him and the Mate, and to run away with the Vessel; but that he luckily overhearing their Discourse, whilst they thought he was asleep, the Night they intended to put their wicked Designs in Execution, prevented it, by securing one of them in Irons, and putting the other ashore, at the first Place they came to.
