WOODARD IS AGAIN
IN MAYOR'S RACE
ANNOUNCES
HIS
CANDIDACY.
Atlanta, Aug. 6.-Following the announcement yesterday by Mayor Winn
that he would not be a candidate for
reelection, there has been a shower
of candidates' hats into the ring.
Today ex-Mayor James G. Woodward
declared himself in the race;
Councilman Aldine Chambers let it be
known that he would probably be a
candidate; and Judge John S. Candler,
formerly of the state supreme
court, admitted that he had the matter
under advisement.
Up to yesterday Mayor Winn had
let it be understood that he would
seek a reelection, and three
other
candidates had announced
against
him. These three, together with the
new ones, run the total to an even
half dozen, and it is expected there
will be others.
