TO DESTROY PEA LICE

Isaac J. Moore, a farmer living just beyond the Maryland line, prescribed possibly the best remedy for the ravaging pea louse which has ruined the hopes of many farmers this season.

Mr. Moore recently gathered only $11 worth of peas from his entire acreage devoted to this vegetable, although his seed alone cost $25, beside his land, fertilizers and his arduous work thereon. He offers this remedy, which he admits is heroic:

"Take a good two-horse Oliver plow (most any other kind will answer), with a jointer, and turn in the peas, lice and all, eight or ten inches deep."

He has made public his remedy without charge and says that all the agricultural experiment stations in the country cannot beat it.
