Special to the Indianapolis Journal.
Tiffin, O., June 25.—The first annual convention of the Christian Endeavor Union of the Methodist Protestant Church of the United States, which has been in session here since last Friday afternoon, adjourned at 10 o'clock to-night and will meet in 1894 at a time and place to be fixed by the executive committee of the union.
This forenoon ministerial delegates filled all the Protestant pulpits of the city and the churches afterwards united in attending the convention, which necessitated the holding of an overflow meeting in the churches of Christ. Addresses were delivered to-day by Rev. D. F. Dyer, of Youngstown, O.; Rev. C. F. Swift, of Bellevue, Pa.; Rev. S. K. Parr, of Rockville Center, N. Y.; C. A. Dungan, of Franklin, Ind.; Rev. G. Stultz, of Bridgetown, Pa., and Rev. W. H. Gladden, of Uniontown, Pa.
Over four hundred delegates were in attendance during the convention, representing fifty-one thousand Endeavorers in fifteen States of the Union, and one delegate was present from Japan. The convention closed with a response from the delegation from every conference and sub-union, in which all pledged themselves to increase their work in the cause they have espoused.
