Season Announced
The 1962 beaver seasons and bag limits, approved by the Alaska Board of Fish and Game in Anchorage Dec. 10, were announced this week by Board Chairman Roy Selfridge of Kenai. They included some minor changes from 1961 based on data gathered by the Dept. of Fish & Game biologists.
The dates and limits were:
Unit 1 (except Juneau, closed area)-Mar. 1-May 15, 15 a year.
Units 2, 3 and 4 Mar. 1 to April 20, 15 a year.
Units 5, 7, 11, 13, 19 and 21- Feb. 1 to March 31, 20 a year.
Unit 8-Jan. 1 to May 15, no limit.
Unit 9-Feb. 1 to March 15, 15 a year.
Units 6, 14, 15 and 16- Feb. 1 to April 30, 40 a year.
Unit 17- Feb. 1 to March 15, 15 a year.
Units 18 and 22- Feb. 1 to March 31, 10 a year.
Units 12, 23 and 25-Feb. 1 to March 31, 15 a year.
Unit 20 Feb. 1 to April 15, 20 a year.
Unit 24 Feb. 1 to March 31, 25 a year.
Units 10 and 26-No open season.
These are being published in Supplement No. 2 to the 1961-62 edition of the Game Regulations, and will be ready for distribution this week, according to James W. Brooks, director of the Department's division of game.
