A Laborer named Blahas Vicello attempted to assassinate the president Saturday afternoon as his carriage was passing Pietro Park.
The assailant rushed from behind a monument with a revolver in his hand, but the president’s aide de camp threw himself from the carriage upon the assailant, overpowered him and prevented him from shooting.
The man was arrested. He is supposed to be insane.
The president in question was President Manuel Quintana of the Argentine Republic, and the attempt on his life took place at Buenos Ayres.
