Charles W. Lea was elected director of the National Bank of Washington at the directors' monthly meeting on Thursday afternoon, it was announced Wednesday by S. M. Jackson, president of the bank.

Lea is president of the Hewitt Land Co., a director of the St. Paul & Tacoma Lumber Co., and treasurer of Sizer & Co. He first came to Tacoma in 1889.

"We are particularly proud and fortunate in being able to have Mr. Lea as a director," President Jackson said. "He represents large interests in Tacoma and this territory."
