The town of Grayling is building up rapidly at present, and many new houses have been built this season. R. Hanson, of the firm of Salling Hanson & Co., is at present building a handsome residence, 67x57 feet in size, two stories high: The first story will be finished in oak, birch and black ash, and the second story in Norway pine. The house will have steam fittings and water works connections throughout. The height of the ceilings on the first floor will be 11 feet, and on the second floor 10 feet. The highest peak of roof is 48 feet from the ground. The foundation is stone in front and the back is of pressed brick. The first floor will have 8 rooms, with pantries, etc., and the second floor 7 rooms, with halls and closets. Daniel Jensen, of Manistee, is superintending the construction of the whole building.
