Full Text

Ohio-The Legislature of this State assembled at Columbus on the same day that Congress met here. In the Senate, thirty-three Members being present, Mr. Wheeler, a friend to the present Administration of the General Government, was chosen Speaker, by a majority of eight votes.

In the House of Representatives, sixty nine Members being present, Edward King, also a friend to the Administration, was chosen Speaker, by a majority of twelve votes.

These results, we are informed, distinctly indicate the state of parties in the Legislature, except that three Members of the House of Representatives, who were absent, are all friendly to the Administration, whilst the absentees in the other House are said to be equally divided.-Nat. Intel.
