HIS TIME IS SHORT.
It is Said That Mayor Baskin Will
Relieve Detective Johnson
of
His Star Tonight.
There is a well founded rumor today
among those who are on the 'inside'
to the effect that Mayor Baskin will relieve
City Detective Johnson of his
official star tonight. The contemplated
discharge of this officer grows out of
the expose that he was the alleged
keeper of a house of ill-fame on Main
street, run by a couple of Southern
States octoroons.
Decapitations in other departments
are also promised.
The session will be
an interesting one.
