His Usual Schedule
to Play For Sisters
Minneapolis, Feb. 28-(AP)-Generously abandoning the iron-clad schedule that carries him, despite his 67 years, through the strenuousness of a transcontinental concert tour, Ignace Jan Paderewski, the world's most famous pianist, came into Minneapolis today and arose three hours early to play in private for 10 Catholic nuns whose vows prevent them from ever hearing him in public.
Tomorrow night Paderewski, who was premier of Poland and who is hailed now as king of musicians will play before a great crowd in the Minneapolis Municipal Auditorium.
Today at noon, in his private car in the yards of the Milwaukee depot, 10 sisters, who are members of orders that forbid them to attend public concerts, sat silent and thrilled while Paderewski, the great, the man who has played for presidents and for kings, gave generously of his time and of his music.
