Kodiak will be without the service of a public health nurse for the next 60 days, John Gibbons, president of the Kodiak Health and Welfare Council, told the city council Wednesday night.
A letter and wire to Dr. C. Earl Albrecht, territorial commissioner of health, appraising him of the situation, has been sent. Gibbons said.
Mary Jane Hurley, health nurse here for the past 10 months, left Aug. 9 for her home in New York leaving Kodiak without a public health nurse for the first time in many years.
The health building on Mission road has been closed and will not be opened until the arrival of a new nurse.
