Full Text

Salisbury, Sept. 22. Sunday evening the 24th current, John Vetcher, an honest, industrious labourer, was found hanging in his bed chamber, at Charleston, in this county, by his children, who were going to bed. The poor man, about two years since, lost an excellent wife, whom he tenderly loved, and had often been heard to lament her death; this, it is supposed, had so long preyed upon his mind, as to disorder his senses, for, before he destroyed himself, he had put on her head dress, necklace, shift, stays, gown, petticoat, &c. and extended the gown by a stick, resembling a hoop, and in this dress was found hanging.

John Vetcher, an honest, industrious labourer, was found hanging in his bed chamber at Charleston by his children. About two years prior, he lost his wife, whom he loved tenderly, and lamented her death often.
