Full Text

A report was current in the city this morning that the foot and mouth cattle disease had developed at Ramona but such is not the case. The circumstances are that a carload of young stock was shipped from the Sioux City stockyards to Ramona, consigned to Avery Williams, for sale in that vicinity. The stock sanitary board of this state learning of the shipment, notified Dr. Austin of this city to proceed to Ramona and quarantine the stock. There is no disease among the carload of stock, but as a precautionary measure the sanitary board ordered the quarantine of this particular carload of stock which will be continued fourteen days, which is the limit of the development of the disease.
