BOUND TO GET THERE. Harvey Gurley, Who Narrowly Escaped Sentence with His Wife for Kidnapping Annie Redmond, in Chicago, Sent Up for Three Years for Bigamy. Madison, Wis., Sept. 18—Harvey W. Gurley on Tuesday pleaded guilty to the charge of bigamy and was sentenced to three years in the State prison at Waupun. Gurley is the husband of the woman who is now serving a nine year sentence in the Joliet (Ill.) prison for the kidnapping of little Annie Redmond in Chicago. He was tried for complicity in the crime, but was acquitted, the evidence not being quite strong enough against him. After his wife had been taken to prison Gurley persuaded a young German girl to marry him claiming that there was no need of a divorce, a legal separation arising through the incarceration of Mrs. Gurley. The victim's friends prosecuted him for bigamy, with the above result.
