MINERS SETTLE WITH SELVES

The 145 coal miners who chipped in and bought the Glen Ridge shaft at Glen Ridge, Ill. when the former firm went out of business, have settled their strike against themselves.

They are members of the United Mine Workers, observe all UMW directives, and have been on a three-day week since John L. Lewis, UMW president called off the nationwide strike. The agreement ending the walkout here was reached at Washington through the UMW district officers.

Victor Meyers, president of the local, said the miners handle their grievances and labor relations as if they were employed by a private company.

The Union Label is the best compass for industry because when it is utilized labor relations never get off their true course.
