Full Text

The Tariff Convention, assembled lately at New-York, recommended a Convention of the friends of Domestic Industry, to be held in this city, at an early day, to consist of delegates from the West and Southwestern States, in order to express the wishes of these States upon the subject of the Tariff. As it seems admitted on all hands now, that a revision of the Tariff is to take place in the course of the present winter, it would perhaps be proper that the West should express its wishes as to the precise adjustment of duties which it would be most proper for our general interests, for Congress to adopt.
