Mr. John S. Anderson, messenger of the banking house of L. Johnson & Co., of Washington, was robbed on the street on Friday afternoon last of $1,015.50, which he had just received from the Bank of Washington. Two men hurriedly approached him, one asking him a question and while he turned to answer, the other came violently against him. They both then ran, and Mr. A. immediately found he had been robbed of his wallet containing the money. Chase was given, and one of the parties, who gives his name as George Payne, was captured, but the other escaped with the money.
