The following named gentlemen are chairmen of the most important Committees:

A legislative committee, consisting of Messrs. Cochran, of Philadelphia, Cochran, of Erie, and Pershing, was appointed to proceed to Washington and inquire into Pennsylvania's quota in the coming Draft. The Committee returned a few days since, and reported that they had had a conference with the authorities, and that our quota would be reduced, but how much would not be known for a few days. The present assignment was up to November 30th, but the new one will be passed on returns one month later.

The business transacted by the Legislature has, thus far, been merely preliminary, and of no special importance.
