A horse belonging to George Eccleston, of Lower Montville, broke through a board covering of a six foot cistern, Saturday. The horse had just been clipped, and Eccleston turned it loose for a few minutes. In falling, the entire fore quarters of the animal passed through the opening, and it had the appearance of standing on its head in a depth of three feet of water. A block and fall was rigged and the horse removed from its perilous position. Strange as it may seem the horse was not hurt in the least.
