Atlanta Panthers And Macon Cardinals Mix At East Point Today
There may be lots of excitement at the East Point Athletic Field today, when the Atlanta Panthers pair-off with the Macon Cardinals, in a heated Branch Rickey Baseball League doubleheader, which gets underway at 2 p. m.
The Macon ball-tossers will be out to take the Panthers in camp in order to keep pace with the College Park Indians and Robinson Dodgers in the tight Branch Rickey loop pennant race, and a banner crowd is expected to be on hand to see them in action against the Panthers.
Manager Johnny George, of the Panthers, will go with James Carmichael, Theodore Stallworth, Charlie Cook, Howard Bulger, Claude Fowler, John Calhoun, Julius Hammond, Emory Dickerson, Julius Wise, Thomas Williams, Harold Wardlaw, John Baety, Alvin Lowe, Claude Holt, Charles Tabb, and Frank Moore.
Among the mainstays for the Cardinals will be George Kemp, Major Fleming, Preston Miller, Robert Slocum, "Stokey" Williams, and Charlie Miller.
