SWAMPSCOTT. MASS.-Jack and the Beanstalk had nothing on Mrs. Lucy G. Nickerson, bean queen' of the Church of the Redeemer,
Methodist. here.

Ever since Mrs. Nickerson called off a church supper because no Yankee church supper is proper without beans - which were too scarce and too costly-the Church of the Redeemer has been receiving generous gift sacks of beans from various parts of the country.

The latest gift, a 100-pound sack from the Elkton Cooperative Farm Products of Elkton, Mich., brought the total poundage of free-gift beans up to 350.
