The election for Governor and members of the legislature took place in North Carolina on Thursday last. Manly, whig, and Reid, dem., were the Gubernatorial candidates. The former beat the latter in 1848, only 874 votes. We have received the following returns:
These returns strongly indicate the election of Reid.
The Democrats gain a member of the Legislature in Chowan, and another in Perquimans.
A report in the Wilmington Chronicle says Manly has a gain in Wayne, and that the Whigs gain a member of the Legislature in Lenoir.--Clipper.
