Event Details
Lightning struck the Barn of Capt. John Coolidge, tearing out one Spar and doing considerable Damage. It also struck three Trees within 70 Rods of each other; under one was a Cow belonging to Lieut. John Bacon, which was instantly killed. It struck a large Oak Tree near Chestnut Pond, tearing up the Fence and splitting the Rails for three Lengths. The shower included Thunder, Lightning, and Hail.
