From Genoa, Aug. 27.
(Received at New-York.)

"You will please to inform your friends trading to this quarter, that by the last mail from Leghorn, we have advice of the French commandant there having declared Leghorn a port of the French Republic, and that, according to the arrete, prohibiting the importation of all species of British productions and manufactures into the ports of France, extended to that of Leghorn.

"These proceedings have created much alarm, and it is generally expected that the blockade of Leghorn by the British will be the result.

"Commodore Morris is on a visit to the Queen at Florence, to remonstrate against these proceedings as derogatory to the interest of the United States."
