Letters from Launceton in Cornwall of the 18th, say, that at the Nisi Prius came on a merry Cause between Two Brothers-in-Law of St. Ives; the Plaintiff brought his Action against the Defendant, (who married his Wife's Sister) for a long criminal Conversation with the Plaintiff's Wife; and the Jury (a Special Jury it was) brought in their Verdict for the Plaintiff, with 200 l. Damages. A Counsel in the Cause exclaim'd himself mightily delighted with the County of Cornwall, because a Man could carry on an Amour so very cheap there; for in examining the Plaintiff's Witnesses, who were privy to the Affair, it appear'd the Lovers were so often engag'd, that the Jury did not make the Defendant pay above 1 s. a Time.
