A letter from Alexandria in Virginia, dated Feb. 1, says "Last Saturday evening, as Capt. Moore, master of the brig General Orders, lying in this port, was returning in his boat from George-Town, where he had been for a load of flour, with four of his hands, by some unknown accident the boat overturned, and it is beyond all doubt all on board perished. The boat was discovered on Sunday morning near Mrs. Hawkins's Ferry, opposite this town, bottom upwards, and seventeen barrels of the flour, together with five hats drifted on shore, near where the boat lay. What adds to this unhappy circumstance is, that it is supposed a sixth person was on board, as Captain Moore's hat has not been found."
