The Honorable Richard Stockton, Esq: one of the
Delegates from the State of New Jersey, in the Continental Congress being indisposed at his Seat at Princeton, when the Enemy entered that Place, unhappily fell into their Hands. Knowing his Rank and Character, they treated him with the greatest Barbarity, driving him on Foot, through Rivers & Creeks, with the greatest Barbarity, & with the greatest Precipitation, particularly the Rariton, which at low Water, is fordable, to Amboy; where, we hear, he lies dangerously ill.
