LIGHT WANTED.

Information Desired from "Probe."

To "Probe:"—Perceiving that you are a man of wisdom—full of information—fond of instructing—will you please inform me through your chosen channel the number of schools, colleges, universities, asylums, and institutions of this character, that are under the control of the State, and also upon which the State is expending money—citing the acts of the Legislature creating the same, and appropriating money thereto—with such views as you may feel disposed to give?

Please pardon me for asking this favor of you. I need the information, and can find no person who can give it out-side of yourself. I am therefore compelled to call on you.

Please accept my thanks for your two articles in the UNION AND AMERICAN. I read them with much pleasure. Can you or not in your next article throw some light upon the subject about which you are writing? The Legislature will act, and act rapidly, if you will only give them facts and information. You seem to have forgotten that in your articles.

Please give this point a little attention. I know it was an oversight.
