Full Text

Judge H. H. Southworth.

The Carroll Conservative pays a just and most proper tribute to that intelligent gentleman, Judge H. H. Southworth; who will be re-elected to the Legislature for Carroll county. The Conservative says:

"Not another man in Carroll county possesses, in so great a degree, the confidence of the entire public, irrespective of class, color or party. In personal popularity the Judge stands alone. This popularity has been fairly earned- earned by a career marked by the strictest integrity, and a devotion to the interest of his county and State, before which he has ever sacrificed all personal considerations. In our legislative representative we have a man that we are proud of. Proud of his superior intelligence; proud of his unassailable honor; proud of his freedom from prejudice; proud of his disinterested patriotism; proud because in all these the county reflects her devotion to honesty, intelligence and political charity."
